I don't know about monitors you can buy today, but I have a three-year old 17"
monitor at home that can do 1600x1200 only at 65Hz. If I try to run it at 70Hz,
it complains. Anything less than 1600x1200 will run at 70Hz, and usually as
much as 85Hz, but that's it. And this monitor cost me almost $1000.

I haven't read any of the previous messages of this thread, but I think the
minimum required refresh rate should be 60Hz, not 70Hz (if that's what you all
are talking about).
