Ok. I had run-away script and thus I had directory with 500000 files in it.
Just ls there will work few MINUTES ! And rm -rf worked few HOURS ! You do not
want thousands of files in one dir on current ext2fs, believe me ...

P.S. What about reiserfs, BTW ?
