The normal IDE device driver treats a DVD drive like an IDE drive.
I've got a K5/166 machine that I put a Hitachi/IBM DVD drive into,
and it works just fine for installing Mastodon Linux from CD. I'd
suspect that the RH CD installer would work just as well.
