Dunno if this is a classical case of user error or not, but here is
the bug report:

1.
IDE-SCSI causes anything that accesses it to go into the "D" state in
ps

2.
I recently purchased an IDE CD-R from a buddy of mine and am attempting
to use it under linux. I have attempted to follow all the directions in
the CD-Writing-HOWTO file to enable a IDE CD-R.

3.

X.
The firmware has been updated to the most current version, and is
fully functional under windows using Adaptec Easy CD Creator for both
audio and data CDs. So the CD-R is functional in the system.

Also the kernel seems to go into a loop. The load goes to 1, and there
are no processes that are taking up any more than 3-5% (top).

TIA,
Mark
