This is from a pretty vanilla RedHat 5.2 setup. Either Redhat *is* almost
2.2 ready or someone needs to updates Changes.txt. Are you sure your
install is botched?

True, this is a stupid thing that Redhat should have fixed ages ago. At
least it doesn't *break* anything since kerneld won't load in 2.2.

Don't have any experience, positive or negative, with this

I'd say it's "close enough"...the only thing I've had to update is dhcpcd
and I don't even think there *is* a dhcpcd which works with both 2.0 and 2.2.
