Last time I talked to Geert Uyetterhoeven (two weeks ago) he told me
that it is possible to pull driver into official tree if this will be
PPC framebuffer... So I'm seeking for PPC owners to test :-)
But I do not know current state - last week there was "thinking paper"
from Geert and from that paper I understand that there should not
be 2D acceleration in driver (only plain cfbXX) and that setmode utility
should be userspace thing... But I hope that I did not understand it
correctly. But yes, removing acceleration could solve some reentrancy
problems from which my driver currently suffer.

P.S.: FAQ: Driver location is
ftp://platan.vc.cvut.cz/pub/linux/matrox-latest/matroxfb.gz
and this patch is against (yesterday) VGER tree, not against
Linus's tree.
