Something having to do with executing the code in ../asm/bugs.h got
messed up in version 2.1.118 and beyond. My machine which certainly
has the bug (I was one of the first to report it), now shows that it
is clean:
processor : 0
cpu family : 5
model : Pentium 75+
vendor_id : GenuineIntel
stepping : 12
fdiv_bug : no
hlt_bug : no
sep_bug : no
f00f_bug : no
fpu : yes
fpu_exception : yes
cpuid level : 1
wp : yes
flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr mce cx8
bogomips : 66.15
There were some changes made to try to determine a clone CPU type.
They probably broke something.
Cheers,
Dick Johnson
