Oh, I think I can explain that... Just ran down a similar problem
with the bttv drivers from the bttv download site. Of the three drivers
in that package (the 0.5.15 set), only one gave the initializer warning.
The other two compiled without a warning. If you've got a file_operations
structure with NULLS in the right spot, it ends up not bitching when
compiled with the new structure definition. So you can't even rely on
the compiler giving you a warning... Fun... No?

Question for anyone else playing with video4linux...

The file Documentation/video4linux/bttv/README in the kernel
the drivers with the bttv package and NOT the drivers in the kernel.
But it also appears to be the file that came with the bttv package and
may be out of date... Should the kernel bttv drivers be used or ones
from the package (which have not been updated for 2.1.118/119).
