Works well for me (K6, UP, VIA Apollo IDE chipser).
Bus 0, device 7, function 1:
IDE interface: VIA Technologies VT 82C586 Apollo IDE (rev 6).
Medium devsel. Fast back-to-back capable. Master Capable.
Latency=32.
I/O at 0xfff0 [0xfff1].

Next time, however, please don't post a >100k patch to linux-kernel. A
pointer to where to download it would be better.
