Yes and no, the daemon helps, but not that _well_ to the user. It
will make the kernel remember to assign speakers with serial # 123456
to /dev/dsp3, but it won't help you too much when you plug a
completely new device. devfs will help you locating it and calling it
by it's real name, rather than by a, most generally, unpleasant code.
As always, I think it is a matter of y/n at compile time :)
