Hi,

I still have a problem with my MS-5159 Board with the K6-2/300.

I overcome the IRQ routing problem (IDE interrupt on 0) by booting
Windows 95 and returning to DOS mode before booting linux with loadlin.

Still, when using a 2.0.34 kernel I get the hda: irq timeout { DriveReady ...
error and the system hangs. When using the 2.0.35 kernel the system simply
stops working after a while. No messages, nothing.

I assume it has to do with the ALI V chipset that is initialized in a wrong
way and probably has some bugs. The hdparm program tells me that my disk
an IBM as mailed before has no special settings enabled. 16-bit access, no
DMA mode etc.

I would be really happy if anyone could give me help on that problem as
even the 2.1.x kernel tell me that the PCI_IDE chipset is unknown and not
100% native mode.

Thanks,

Leo.
