I'm running 2.1.115 on a Tomcat IV with 192MB of EDO DRAM
(2xP166MMX, heavily loaded with SCSI controllers etc.) and
BIOS 1.02. With BIOS 1.00 and 1.01 I had to
use the 70ns memory speed otherwise it won't even complete
the boot process. Memory timings of version 1.02 are much less
hefty than those of the older ones and now the board runs
perfectly stable. Loss of system speed seems to be tolerable, at least
I haven't noticed a significant decrease up to now.
Only one nitpick, IDE DMA does not work. During the boot process
the kernel does a bus reset and disables DMA because of hd timeouts.

Regards

Jochen
