alan, linus, mark, everyone - can i just make a suggestion here? things
are obviously getting *way* too emotional here - it's an operating system,
not a religion. perhaps if everyone just spent a day or two completely
away from the issue - take a vacation, see a movie, whatever. if everyone
just cools down a bit, that'll make things a lot easier.

remember how long 2.0.30 was delayed when dave miller gave up developing
it (not that i blame him, after seeing the way people treated him...)? i'd
reallly hate to see that kind of thing happen again, especially when we're
getting so close to 2.2!
