If the subject had been to claim that raw devices or any other
really used facility asked by users will never be incorporated in
Linux, I would have complained the same way.

Note that raw devices are definately on the TODO list, it's only a
matter of somebody doing a clean implementation that Linus likes
(hint: pull the page temporarily out of the page cache while the raw
I/O is happening to it)
