State of Ultra-DMA support?

Hi all...

What exactly is the state of Ultra-DMA support in the Linux kernel? I
know that both the recent development kernels and the upcoming 2.0.34
have some sort of UDMA support built into them, but poking through the
2.0.34pre11 and 2.1.96 sources and documentation so far hasn't proved
very informative about it other than that it's there.

The big question is of course: What chipsets are supported? Is it
intended to work on anything, or is it limited to just a few? Which ones
is it known to work on? To not work on? (Okay, so that's more than one
question. ;)

As the maintainer of the Ultra-DMA mini-HOWTO I am understandably a
little curious about the future of Ultra-DMA support... If the answer is
sitting in front of my face somewhere, or if there is a more appropriate
forum that I should be asking this in, feel free to point it out to me.

Thanks in advance for your help!
