I am running Linux 2.0.33 on a Compaq Deskpro XL 560, with an Intel Mercury PCI Chipset.
When I boot I get:

Apr 15 14:29:17 localhost kernel: pcibios_init : BIOS32 Service Directory
structure at 0x000fa000
Apr 15 14:29:17 localhost kernel: pcibios_init: entry in high memory,
trying direct PCI access
Apr 15 14:29:17 localhost kernel: pcibios_init: Not supported chipset for
direct PCI access !
Apr 15 14:29:17 localhost kernel: pci_init: no BIOS32 detected

I am aware of the MOVEPCI.SYS kludge, but would like to know if there is any native support in Linux for high memory direct access for the PCI bios support.

If someone is interested, I will happily test patches on my machine and/or provide more info

Thanks for your time
