Problem with pppd 2.3.3 starting at 2.1.68/69

Hi,
I have problem with pppd which I tracked down to kernels 68/69.
I upgraded pppd to version 2.3.3, so it should support new kernel code.
However when I run - it tries to establish conection and after modem
negotiation it says "Terminated" - modem hungs up. Log message says
somethimg like Fatal signal 11 (SIGV). Once it was signal 5 (TRAP).
According to log it happens before any address is assigned.
With older version of pppd (2.2...) it didn't work because of well
described situation with routes.

So, does anybody has any clue?
