OK, but that is not related to what my patch does.

All that my patch does is enables a system that still has
only one processor but happens to be running a kernel compiled with SMP
to use APM. This way, I can have one kernel binary for both types
of systems. It does not (or should not--I wish somebody would try it)
activate APM if there is more than one CPU.
