Over the years that I've been using Linux and reading
the mailing lists and newsgroups that are devoted to
it I've learned of a number of features to the kernel --
like the effect of the {[Shift],[Alt],[Ctrl]}+[Scroll Lock]
keys from the consoles, and the ability to echo new values
into magic files under /proc (like 'echo 4096 >
/proc/sys/kernel/file-max) and like the panic= (A.K.A. the
/proc/sys/kernel/panic) command line option.
However, I have this odd suspicion that there is lots more
where that came from.
Is there a comprehensive list of Linux kernel features
that can be accessed via these interfaces (console,
/proc, and command line argument)?
