Yesterday, I created a filesystem that is to contain a large number of
small files. Knowing that Linux defaults to 1k blocks but most other
Unix filesystems use 512-byte blocks which are more efficient in this
situation, I tried telling mke2fs to make 512-byte blocks but it
refused.
Is this a bug in mke2fs or a limitation in the ext2fs filesystem? If
it is a limitation in the filesystem, when will it be fixed?
