In linux.kernel you write:

>AWE 64 sound board
>IBM auto 16/4 ISA token ring adapter

>I am getting some strange errors from the adapter and I think they are
>related to a conflict with the sound board (however, all IRQ's are correct
>with no conflicts)

Could be an I/O port conflict, even though the numbers are different.
Quite a few motherboards out there only decode the lower 10 bits of
the I/O port, so an IBM adapter at 0xA20 and another card at 0x220
would conflict. Many soundcards use that area.

I'd try reconfiguring the sound card to something like 0x240.
