2.0.30 Oops

While telnetted into my PC (2.0.30) from home (also 2.0.30) via PPP,
the modem hung up on me after a half hour or so of fairly heavy usage
(including moving lots of files into a VFAT partition - good for
locking the machine for 3 or 4 seconds each time it allocates a
directory entry). I found this in syslog:
