Well, I've got the same strange problem:

webclub:/# df
Filesystem 1024-blocks Used Available Capacity Mounted on
/dev/hda2 829289 689669 96780 88% /

and if I du -s / I get the same result, 96780 so what's strange is the
used amount of disk space...
