: has anyone tried using smbfs in place of nfs and done a performance
: comparison? any thoughts on this being a usable possibility?
I get about a 5% performance hit using smbfs rather than nfs talking to
a big SCO box running samba, but even if smbfs was faster I would still
use NFS as it exports permissions etc in a more usable way.
