The Linux/MIPS 2.0.2 release has this bug fixed. The current MIPS sources
still haven't fully been integrated back into Linus' sources; this
will happen during the 2.1.x series. The real MIPS source tree can
be ftped from ftp://ftp.fnet.fr/linux-mips/src/kernel/v2.0/.
