route add -net failure at boot

I am running the 2.0 kernel on my machine and I noticed that on bootup
route fails to add a route to 127.0.0.0. I tried adding the route
manually several times with successive failures each time. After I
started pppd to get online, however, I could add the route
just fine.

For reference, the command used was:

route add -net 127.0.0.0

I don't have the exact error message in front of me right now, but
I'll recreate it and send it out to anyone who's interested. Finally,
here's my config:

BTW - I did check the Documentation directory and it doesn't mention
anything other than a syntax change to use 127.0.0.0 instead
of 127.0.0.1 If this isn't a bug, then it should be
documented.
