The problem that I just posted appears to be reproducable. If gdb is run
on some program with debugging symbols and then is told to kill the running
process (for example by quitting it in the middle of the program), the Oops
message that I posted repeats. After that, running pretty much anything locks
up the computer. So the problem is PTRACE_KILL?
By the way this is 486/33 with 20M of RAM and also in the last message I didn't
mention that I am running ppp 2.2d beta (which replaces 1.3.x ppp driver).
