hard, magic sysreq doesn't work, reset doesn't work at all, power shuts
down after 4-5 seconds

I put in the full dmesg for 2.4.5-pre1 and 2.4.17 (just in case there's
other relevent stuff, with a tailored kernel it's fairly small) and one
