But an i386 compiled test9 kernel with that patch reversed works ?
(At least thats what it showed in my tests, I never tried Winchip compiled
kernel with the reversed mtrr patch)

Unfortunatly, I've not had chance to look into this some more this
evening. Maybe tomorrow will yield more answers.
