Wait for rev 2. Rubini did a nice job but it is now dated in the worst
way. Covers 2.0 kernels

Just grab the rtc driver out of drivers/char and go from there.
This one of the simplest and fairly clean examples to work off.
The kernel source can be the greatest teacher.
