I have tested this with 2.4.0test1, test1-ac18 thru 21 and finally
test2...

I get a bunch of these messages:

Jun 26 18:16:27 magique kernel: APIC error interrupt on CPU#1, should
never happen.
Jun 26 18:16:27 magique kernel: ... APIC ESR0: 00000004
Jun 26 18:16:27 magique kernel: ... APIC ESR1: 00000004
Jun 26 18:16:27 magique kernel: ... bit 2: APIC Send Accept Error.
...
Jun 26 18:26:07 magique kernel: APIC error interrupt on CPU#0, should
never happen.
Jun 26 18:26:07 magique kernel: ... APIC ESR0: 00000008
...
Jun 26 18:29:08 magique kernel: APIC error interrupt on CPU#0, should
never happen.
Jun 26 18:29:08 magique kernel: ... APIC ESR0: 00000008
Jun 26 18:29:08 magique kernel: ... APIC ESR1: 0000000a
Jun 26 18:29:08 magique kernel: ... bit 1: APIC Receive CS Error (hw
problem).
Jun 26 18:29:08 magique kernel: ... bit 3: APIC Receive Accept Error.

I have only noticed them while running XF86 4.0, _BUT_ I'm not totally
sure about that.

The system does remain stable tho...

Everything works fine with 2.2-series..

If I can supply more info, please let me know..
I'm not subscribed, so...
