Hi,

I got mail from the ATI Rage 128 framebuffer author (aty128fb.c) that he'd
updated it to support the Rage Pro LT chipset, which is what I use in my
Compaq Presario 1800T. Presently I'm using the VESA VGA framebuffer.

He sent me the new source code, but it wouldn't compile in 2.4.0-test1-ac15
because he used a structure member in pci_dev from pci.h that is apparently
not there in the development kernels. I haven't tried it in a production kernel
but I can to check out that it works OK as he sent it.

I'm afraid I don't have enough of a clue about kernel programming yet to do
the needed modifications to make it work in both versions myself but I don't
think it should be very hard and would be a nice thing to have - if for nothing
else, to avoid confusing Rage Pro LT users who configure the Rage 128 option
and get only darkness at book time. Apparently the LT is significantly enough
different that it needs some special code. I know I needed a recent release
of XFree86 to support the chip in the X server.
