No. What's about the portability? On application level, every computer can do
everything. Sticking to a specific combination of libraries, etc. which are not
standard is creating an incompatibility which is not needed and which is for
many people even painful. All the mess with autoconf and the like would not be
needed if there was a uniform standard.
