I got those "transmit timed out" messegaes only on first boot.
But after that it got even worse. Now my 3c905C-TX no longer
displays it's boot-up messages "Press N to boot from LAN".
FreeBSD has now problems detecting the card. And even Linux has
some problems:

3c59x.c:v0.99L+LK1.1.6 28 May 2000 Donald Becker and others. http://www.scyld.com/network/vortex.html $Revision: 1.97 $
eth0: 3Com PCI 3c905C Tornado at 0x6800, ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff, IRQ 11
Full duplex capable
  8K byte-wide RAM 5:3 Rx:Tx split, autoselect/Autonegotiate interface.
MII transceiver found at address 24, status 782d.
3c59x: Wake-on-LAN functions disabled
Enabling bus-master transmits and early receives.

Just look at the MAC address!

Regards
Martin
