I have a Mainboard with Ali Alladdin V Chipset (GA-5AX), Chipset
Revision 193.
Running Kernel 2.3.99pre3 my filesystem (ext2) gets corrupted.
Running Kernel 2.3.99pre4 the kernel crashes while detecting the
chipset.
Running Kernel 2.4.0-test1 or test1-ac4 (same behaviour) the kernel is
"unable to mount root fs on 03:06, hda: unknown partition table"
My hda is a IBM-DJNA-351520
My Kernel configuration is:
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDE=y
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEDISK=y
CONFIG_IDEDISK_MULTI_MODE=y
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDECD=m
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEPCI=y
CONFIG_IDEPCI_SHARE_IRQ=y
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEDMA_PCI=y
CONFIG_IDEDMA_PCI_AUTO=y
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEDMA=y
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_ALI15X3=y
When I disable the last option, everything is ok, but DMA is disabled,
resulting in poor performance.
Due to lack of time I was unable to test pre5-pre9 or test1-ac5 or
greater kernel versions, sorry.
Hope this helps to find a bug, if there is one. Continue your great work
on the kernel!
