Linux-2.4.0-test1-ac8

Hey all,

I'm not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but when ever I
run a process who's memory usage approaches the limits of physical ram
the system locks. No messages are printed to the logs or console when
this happens. This problem has been present since linux-2.4.0-test1.
It's as if the system runs out of memory because memory isn't being
returned from the page cache freely enough. My test systems are SMP
pIIIs and have 1 to 2 GB of memory.
