Mobo dying hard with DMA support

Andre:

Whenever I try to enable DMA on my BP6/HPT366, the machine dies completely
(power-cycling doesn't cure it). Earlier, you said something about
enabling DMA for the controller first, before the drive - how??

Other problem: the drive seems pathetically slow (UDMA/66 Fujitsu). I can
get nearly 12 Mb/sec on the PIIX4 on another BP6 machine - but only 2
Mb/sec on the HPT366! (Without DMA, obviously, since that kills the
machine...)

James.
