Ok, when one looks at it that way, that a few people mentioned here ( 64
way NUMA Systems etc ... )
Its a most welcome feature ... I never thought of it that way.
There should also be a certain degree of hardware support for this.
One could supervise the fan-speed and the temp of a PIII and if the
fan-speed drops ore the tempreature rises too high for some obscure
reason , one could give a warning message and
auto unmount the cpu... and if its the only CPU, perhaps do a "suspend
to disk" - and let the user see what happened ...
I don´t know how this is on "bigger" "better" "more" machines like IBMs
Mainframes or other HA or high performance
systems, but I´m willing to learn ... PLEASE tell me!!
