I agree with all your points, but they don't change the critical fact:
GUI admin tools matter. Given that, I must cover them in my
comparison.

It's not my right in that article to tell prospective users what they
should use and what they shouldn't: the reader must provide that
analysis for my article to be meaningful in a particular context.
