Yep, that'll be in my OLS2000 paper (work in progress) which gives the
big picture on (my view of) booting concepts.

Yep, it's on my to do list. There are still a few open issues (e.g. how
quickly linuxrc/change_root will move into deprecated state; plus a
weak dependency on bootimg, and related tools) that need to be sorted
out first. Late June material.
