values in /proc/interrupt

Hello.

Living on the bleeding edge, I spotted something which interests me, or
at least roused my curiousity;
kernel 2.4.0-test1-ac4 smp
1 celeron 466 running at 466 (waiting on a second cpu)
redhat6.2 (mostly unmodified; except for the new kernel, etc)
abit bp6 motherboard - which I have heard has "issues" with smp, so this
might just be one - but even so, it would be nice to know for sure :)

/proc/interrupts seems to have a large number of LOC and NMI interrupts.
I guess the latter to be the result of the nmi_watchdog

This isn't causing any trouble that I can see, so this post is more of a
"Why?".
and if there's any FM out there I can go RT (as in RTFM), just point me
to it :)

anyway, some numbers:
=== /proc/interrupts ===
           CPU0
  0: 788947 IO-APIC-edge timer
  1: 29224 IO-APIC-edge keyboard
  2: 0 XT-PIC cascade
  5: 271340 IO-APIC-edge soundblaster
  8: 1 IO-APIC-edge rtc
 12: 89549 IO-APIC-edge PS/2 Mouse
 13: 1 XT-PIC fpu
 14: 21390 IO-APIC-edge ide0
 15: 29 IO-APIC-edge ide1
 19: 167159 IO-APIC-level eth0
NMI: 788971
LOC: 788925
ERR: 0

=== /proc/interrupts ===
           CPU0
  0: 791816 IO-APIC-edge timer
  1: 29512 IO-APIC-edge keyboard
  2: 0 XT-PIC cascade
  5: 272575 IO-APIC-edge soundblaster
  8: 1 IO-APIC-edge rtc
 12: 90131 IO-APIC-edge PS/2 Mouse

 19: 167772 IO-APIC-level eth0
NMI: 791840

===
timer, NMI, and LOC seem to be keeping pace with each other, and a while
back at the 650000 or so mark, NMI == irq0

=== bootup... long :) ===
