  I tried to find the kernel which triggers this but due to lack of time I
tried only couple of kernels and found that the problem is between
2.3.99-pre5 and 2.3.99-pre6-prepre6.

  I normally build kernels without module support (ie. CONFIG_MODULES
undefined). When I switched module support on (without any other change) and
rebuilt kernel, floppy problem dissappeared.

  As I have a liitle spare time I'll try to find the first bad kernel and
report it.
