Can someone explain to me what this means? I do not get this error
with a video card installed in the unit. If I reboot the unit without
a video card more than about twice, the HD gets severly corrupted and
all the contents of '/' are put in 'lost+found'. Can anyone shed
some light on why this is occuring? The logs are attached below.
I can reproduce this with the kernels 2.2.12, 2.3.4[0257]. The only
reason I can think that this does not occur with the video card on
the unit is because the video card somehow slows the PCI bus down
or may be just slows the computer down in general. This is an embedded
box and normally does not have a video card on it nor is it an option
to have one on it in the field. The fact that the first bit of logged
ext2 error is chopped off kinda scares me... Is it possible that there
is a buffer overrun in the kernel somewhere that is triggered by weird
hardware setups? Please help!!!
