Oops on Boot with 2.3.39

Hi;

I am getting oopsen everytime an attempt to bootstrap this machine under
kernel 2.3.39., so I am having to use 2.2.14 for now.

so a debugging session isnt really possible...
here is the info I have gathered.
The oopsen occurs at this address range in the code according to
System.map

at c01304ec which would point to the entries below.

c01304cc T blkdev_open
c01305b4 T blkdev_put

The oops does not occur until the kernel has completed loading and was
about ready to mount the root FS.
