We are running 2.2.14pre9 on an 500Mhz Athlon box. All of a sudden
we couldnīt run any program chmoding in /dev/pts (i.e. kvt). It
exited with 0 after chmod failed with permission denied. We
examined straces, but still had no clue what the problem was when
it oopsed on init 1:
