problem with /drivers/net/setup.c in 2.3.27

During the attempt to compile subject file (apparently new in 2.3.27) I
ran into undefined symbols. There are a number of code segments which
look like this:

#ifdef CONFIG_DUMMY
{
extern int dummy_init(struct net_device *dev);
static struct net_device dummy_dev = {
"dummy" __PAD5, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0, 0, 0, 0,
0, NULL, dummy_init,
};
register_netdev(&sb1000_dev);
}
#endif

EVERY code segment attempts to call register_netdev with the same
parameter (sb1000_dev). Does the enclosed patch look reasonable?
