Same symptoms here with Sony VAIO 505z. Freezes loading APM, crashes later
in load (eth0 config?) with APM disabled. 2.3.18(ac3?) mostly works - the
NM256 module sound driver I hacked from 2.2.x patch sounds a little flaky
with 2.3.x.
