Actually, I think it's a netfilter problem (specificly in
ip_nat_cleanup_conntrack). Look at http://lists.samba.org/listproc/netfilter/
for a message entitled: [PATCH] netfilter-0.1.10 conntrack/NAT problems
for details and a patch which seems to have worked for me.
