Hi,
I'm posting the following bug report. My apologies if
this issue has already been addressed. Any help or suggestions are greatly
appreciated. Our lab relies heavily on reliable NFS connections.
Please let me know if further information is required.

--------------------------------------------

[1.] One line summary of the problem:
Kernel 2.2.12 oops related to kernel nfs lockd.

[2.] Full description of the problem/report:
On several SMP machines I've experienced Kernel 2.2.12 oopses
related to kernel nfs lockd.
After oops, the lockd daemon dies and cannot be restarted.
Exported file systems cannot be accessed, or reexported.
In earlier instances, reboot was necessary to restore the exports, however
with the latest incident, the oops happens during the boot sequence
reproducibly. The kernel has been patched with patches from knfsd-1.4.X (X > 4)
and NFSv3. I don't have the exact patch info since this was done
by a vendor (ASL). Mountd is being run with the no-nfs-version 3 option.

[3.] Keywords (i.e., modules, networking, kernel):
kernel, oops, knfs, lockd, NFSv3

[4.] Kernel version (from /proc/version):

Linux version 2.2.12 (root@django.ucsf.edu) (gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux
(egcs-1.1.2 release)) #3 SMP Fri Sep 17 20:34:02 PDT 1999

[5.] Output of Oops.. message (if applicable) with symbolic information
resolved (see Documentation/oops-tracing.txt)
