ide as modules and disk managers

If I have all IDE drivers compiled as modules, will they access drives that
have some type of disk manager on it? (ie ontrack)

I am using 2.2.1 in this case. Only thing compiled into the kernel is nfs,
a bunch of nic drivers, and elf. (diskless machine)
